Pears in Moscato, with honey, walnuts and Pecorino

Pears in Moscato, with honey, walnuts and Pecorino

A classic Italian dessert that is so simple to make, but has real wow factor. The sweetness of the pears and honey combine so well with the salty sheep's cheese and crunchy walnuts. It's to die for...

For 4 portions, you will need:

  • A big jar of really good quality pears in Moscato
  • 3 big spoonfuls of Millefiori or Acacia honey
  • A small handful of shelled walnuts
  • About 150g of Pecorino cheese
  • Serve with Moscato if you're feeling generous!

This will take about 10 minutes to prepare, and it's a winner at dinner parties:

  1. Drain most of the Moscato syrup from the pears, slice them into quarters and then into thinner strips and set them to one side with a little of the Moscato left
  2. Slice the Pecorino in the same way until you have slivers roughly 5cm thick
  3. Arrange the pears and the cheese together on a plate and drizzle the Moscato over the top
  4. Spoon the honey over the top and sprinkle with walnuts
  5. Enjoy it with a lovely glass of a sweet dessert wine like Moscato

Delicious!
