Italian antipasti plate

For one of the easiest but best starters in the world, just take yourself off to your local good deli and pick up some fantastic Italian ingredients. All you need to do is arrange them simply on a large serving plate with some warm crusty bread, a preferably some good quality extra virgin olive oil and a balsamic vinegar for dipping.

You will need:

  • Some good quality Italian meats, like a Napoli or Tuscan salami and wafer thin Prosciutto or Parma ham
  • A couple of tasty Italian cheeses, including a hard cheese like Pecorino and a soft one like Dolcelatte
  • Some courgettes, artichoke hearts or peppers
  • The best quality olives you can find
  • Sun blushed or sundried tomatoes
  • Marinated anchovy fillets always work well

With this dish it's all about the quality of the ingredients. It makes a perfect dinner party starter or a classy lunch with friends.
