Muller Thurgau, Elena Walch DOC 2006 12% abv
A hybrid of Riesling and Sylvaner, this fresh and zingy white from the comparatively little known Alto Adige region comes from acclaimed producer Elena Walch and is definitely one to watch out for. It is superbly crisp and bursting with grapefruit and summer fruits. We're not usually big fans of German-influenced wines, but this one really grabbed our attention with it's freshness and lightness. It's perfect for summer drinking, and with shellfish or risotto.
Try it for a super refreshing change from the usual Italian dry whites, and you just might be converted!
