Scalabrone DOC 2006, Guado al Tasso 12% abv
This bright pink beauty is a refreshing blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes. It is produced in small quantities (about 4000 cases last year) in the Guado al Tasso estate by prestigious wine makers Antinori, about 60 miles south west of Florence. Like the notorious bandit it is named after, who terrorised the surrounding Bolgheri region in the 18th century, the wine is charismatic and a little devilish! Very fruity and well balanced with a beautiful lingering finish. Our favourite rose by miles, we think this is fantastic for summer.
