Impetus, Monferrato Rosso Superiore DOC

Impetus, Barbera Superiore 2001 14% abv

Roberto Urscheler has used traditional barrel techniques passed down from his grandfather to produce a superbly soft, deep and velvety premium Barbera using only the finest grapes from the 'sori' (the best spot in the vineyard at the top of the hill). Impetus is a unique 2001 vintage produced using fine Allier oak barrels and employing traditional methods that soften the acidic qualities of the wine.

Deep ruby-red in colour with violet hues, this premium Barbera is rich, strong, complex and velvety with a beautiful bouquet of vanilla, blackberry and liquorice. Impetus has strength and real structure - it is ideal with strong meats and cheeses, game or as a fine after dinner drink.

Impetus is drinking superbly now and will continue to develop well until about 2012. Only very limited quantities (less than 100 bottles) of this wine remain for sale anywhere in the world, so we recommend that you order early to avoid disappointment. Treat yourself to a couple of bottles now, and lay the rest of the case down for a couple of years to maximise your investment.
