Il Conteso, nebbiolo d'Alba 2004 13.5% abv
Il Conteso is a fine, full-bodied wine produced entirely from nebbiolo grapes just outside of the Barolo DOCG region near Alba in north-west Italy. The Cossetti family have been producing superb wines in Piedmont since 1891, and this ‘Baby Barolo’ is a great example of their dedication to a quality over quantity approach. It is garnet-coloured with a complex, full body and a velvet finish with spices and vanilla. It can be enjoyed now, and will continue to improve considerably for at least another 10 years. Perfect with truffles, game and meat dishes, or a hearty pasta.
